Avocado Toast Recipe

I love avocado toast! It is insanely delicious, and it is incredibly healthy. Especially if you choose a whole grain bread as the base. You can add so many different toppings and make lots of variations depending on your cravings or what you have in the house. This is a very flexible recipe, so add whatever your heart desires!

Makes 1 serving.

Ingredients:

1 slice of bread (sprouted grain, whole grain, whole wheat, whatever. You can also use tortillas, pita, bagels or rice cakes!)

1 tbsp hummus (or your other favorite spread) *optional*

1/2 sliced avocado

Citrus to taste (lemon or lime)

Seasonings to taste (I like Trader Joe’s Everything But the Bagel Seasoning)

Instructions:

Toast your bread. Top with a layer of hummus/spread and your sliced avocado. Sprinkle on some seasonings and a few squeezes of citrus.

You can stop there, or add cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, cheese or even fruit. The possibilities are endless!
